Grind

Lately, I like to play a lot of Neverwinter. I play it quite a bit, and it is very fun.  Now, it seems like it might be addictive, because the game is very “grindy” and can virtually never be completely finished, or at least not without A LOT of time and input, and then that is just for one class, you can always start another class.  Even if you managed to technically get one character everything BIS(best in slot) which would be quite a feat in-and-of itself, but then you can make another class which is good and fun, so the point is it never ends.  But is that a bad thing?  I like to play it because it’s fun, not because it’s addictive.  If it’s addictive that is because it’s fun complimented with the fact that there is always something to do.  So my point is… it’s a fun game, but very “long-winded” and takes quite a bit of effort and time, not effort but input, to make a “complete” total badass character build. But that is really secondary, to the game being fun which it is even at the very beginning, so it’s not like it has to be finished or complete to enjoy it and have fun. In fact, somehow, building the character “over time” is ALSO fun, in addition to the other gameplay itself, which is interesting.  Sometimes I like messing with professions and auction, and sometimes I don’t want to.  But it’s a nice change from intense dungeons to maybe just screw around with some light-hearted auctioning. ANYWAYS, I’m just rambling about Neverwinter and how I play it a lot lately and how it is fun even though I can never seem to complete it LOL!!! But that’s part of the fun! So anyways, there’s that, I hope you enjoyed reading my rambling post, pretty cool and fun and interesting to me to write it. thanks.

Oh yes, after rereading my post I am reminded of something…  Because it is virtually “never” complete, some people seem to have the mentally of just trying to complete it, and that is NOT fun, imo. Some people just want to grind as fast as possible to get to the end and be done with ! BORING. I mean what’s the point if you’re not having fun.  And it’s not like you can’t do both, grind but also play now in a relaxed and attentive state to enjoy it. Don’t be caught in the TRAP of using the current moment only as a “stepping stone”, if you know and accept that it is virtually never complete then you can enjoy it now regardless, instead of playing trying hard to get to the end which is a grind and boring. thanks!
